Gotland Horizon \u2013 A bet for the future<\/h2>\n\n

Jonas Moberg, technically responsible for ship development at Gotlandsbolaget, is one of the key people behind the Gotland Horizon project in Gotland Tech Development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a background as a civil engineer in shipbuilding, he has extensive experience from the shipping industry. With his passion for innovation, he leads the work to take Gotland’s shipping into the future. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

The Gotland Horizon project, Sweden’s first large-scale hydrogen-powered ship, is an important step towards a fossil-free future for Gotlandsbolaget. With this concept ship with a cargo capacity of 600 cars or 100 trucks and room for 1,900 passengers, Gotlandsbolaget wants to revolutionize shipping by offering maritime transport with reduced emissions. In addition, with a crossing time of only 3.15 h. <\/p>\n\n

From ships to infrastructure – a holistic approach<\/h2>\n\n

Gotlandsbolaget not only aims to revolutionize shipping by introducing hydrogen-powered ships, but also by investing in infrastructure and technology to support this transition.<\/p>\n\n

Through collaboration with other shipping companies and organizations both nationally and internationally, such as the Australian shipyard Austal, Gotlandsbolaget strives to develop common solutions and standards to promote the use of hydrogen in shipping.<\/p>\n\n

Customer focus and environmental awareness<\/h2>\n\n

Gotlandsbolaget takes into account both the customers’ needs and environmental aspects in its work. By offering shorter crossing times and at the same time reducing the environmental impact by investing in environmentally friendly fuels, the company strives to find a balance between convenience and sustainability for its travelers. <\/p>\n\n

Why are you members of Hydrogen Sweden?<\/h2>\n\n

As members of V\u00e4tgas Sweden, Gotlandsbolaget sees an opportunity to collaborate with other players in the industry to develop and promote the use of hydrogen. Through networking and knowledge exchange, they hope to contribute to creating a sustainable and efficient infrastructure for hydrogen-powered shipping and other applications. <\/p>\n\n

Jonas Moberg emphasizes the importance of coordination and cooperation within V\u00e4tgas Sweden to meet common challenges and increase the industry’s capacity and efficiency. He looks forward to continuing to work together with other members to drive the development of hydrogen-based solutions forward and contribute to a more sustainable future for shipping and society at large. <\/p>\n\n
