Str\u00e4ngn\u00e4s municipality invests in mapping the possibilities of green hydrogen. With a preliminary study financed by Klimatfond Str\u00e4ngn\u00e4s, the municipality is now starting work on developing an action plan to realize the opportunities that green hydrogen can offer. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Through collaboration with Sol\u00f6r Bioenergi and Str\u00e4ngn\u00e4s municipal company, the two companies invest a total of SEK 60 million to implement joint projects and also encourage other local businesses to contribute together to a faster energy and climate transition in Str\u00e4ngn\u00e4s municipality, where the goal is to be a fossil-free municipality 2030.<\/p>\n\n

– The preliminary study shall identify and illustrate the possibilities for the production and use of hydrogen gas with a low climate footprint within the energy sector, transport, the real estate sector and industry within Str\u00e4ngn\u00e4s municipality. The mission also includes developing an action plan with recommendations for how the municipality could handle the possibilities with hydrogen, says Ragnar Lind\u00e9n, sustainability developer within the municipality and the one who leads the work on the feasibility study. <\/a><\/a><\/p>\n\n

By exploring areas of use for green hydrogen, from reserve power plants to industrial processes, the feasibility study is expected not only to provide recommendations for how hydrogen can be integrated into the municipality’s development strategy, but also to identify concrete projects and sub-goals to achieve the climate goals.<\/p>\n\n
