Norway leads the way in renewable energy

Norwegian Hydrogen’s hydrogen venture, Hellesylt Hydrogen Hub was officially inaugurated on 18 September 2024 in the presence of Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and other key figures in the energy sector. The renewable energy facility is located on the beautiful Geiranger Fjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and aims to produce 500 tons of green hydrogen annually. This hydrogen gas will be used to reduce emissions in sectors such as industry, heavy transport, shipping and fast charging for electric vehicles.

The project is an important step towards making the Geirangerfjord emission-free, and it is a clear example of how cooperation between industry, politics and local society can lead to sustainable solutions.
