Announcement – 195 million euros for the development of hydrogen technology

The EU organization Clean Hydrogen Partnership has opened its call for a total of 195 million euros available for projects in hydrogen.

The Clean Hydrogen Partnership is a public-private partnership that supports research and innovation activities in hydrogen technology across Europe. The organization will receive a total of 1 billion euro from the EU for the period 2021-2027 with the potential for a further 1 billion euro from private investment.

The funding will be divided into 49 million euro for renewable hydrogen production, 36 million euro for hydrogen storage and distribution, 25,5 million euro for transport, 19 million euro for heat and power, 7,5 million euro for transverse, 38 million euro for hydrogen clusters so-called “hydrogen valleys” and a further 20 million euros for strategic research.

The European Union has set a target of 10 million tons of renewable hydrogen production by 2030 and imports of the same amount, which means a market of 20 million tons/year by the end of the decade, according to the REPowerEU directive. Read more here and apply.
